The Architectural firm “Architects Southwest” headquartered in Lafayette and currently developing “The Village at River Ranch” in Lafayette, is behind the plan. “New Orleans Riverside at Historic Algiers” is slated to be a 116 acre site and plans are to include 1600 homes and apartments within a five-minute walk of over 350 thousand square feet of new office and retail space, hotel and 35 thousand square foot grocery with offices above. Furthermore, the development will include ground-floor retail space with residences above with tree-lined streets and green space.

The New Orleans Riverside at Historic Algiers is one, baby boomers and Millennials who earn around twice the mean income average for Orleans Parish are sure  to find attractive.

The plan includes incorporating the century-old Navy buildings, possibly as residential lofts, and the iconic Navy water tower.
