An extraordinary 60 percent of the residents of the Arlington neighborhood are currently enrolled in college.  This is such a large part of life in this neighborhood that the neighborhood changes a great deal with the change of semesters and is far quieter during the summer when many students are away.

Due to its popularity among college students who already choose to live here, the neighborhood is rated among the top five percent of college-friendly places to live in the state of Louisiana. In addition to being an excellent choice for college students, this neighborhood is also a very good choice for young, single professionals.

Other residents here are employed in clerical, assistant, and tech support occupations at over 12 percent, and four percent in government jobs, whether they are in local, state, or federal positions.

In the Arlington neighborhood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, residents most commonly identify their ethnicity or ancestry as French at over 10 percent. There are also a number of people of German, Italian or Irish ancestry at around eight percent. Some of the residents are also of English ancestry residents at seven percent, and just under one percent has Brazilian ancestry, among others.
