Kalihi Area Homes for Asle

Honolulu, Hawaii

Kahile AreaKalihi area median real estate price is $756,462, which is more expensive than 75.9 percent of the neighborhoods in Hawaii and 96.4 percent of the neighborhoods in the U.S.

The average rental price in Kalihi is currently $1,601 and lower in price than 46.8 percent of Hawaii neighborhoods. In Kalihi, the current vacancy rate is 2.7 percent, which is a lower rate of vacancies than 89.2 percent of all neighborhoods in the U.S. This means that the housing supply in Kalihi is very tight compared to the demand for property here.

Kalihi real estate is primarily made up of medium sized three or four bedroom to large four, five or more bedroom single-family homes and townhomes. Most of the residential real estate is occupied by a mixture of owners and renters. Many of the residences in the Kalihi neighborhood are older, well-established, built between 1940 and 1969, with a number of residences were also built between 1970 and 1999.

When you see a neighborhood for the first time, the most important thing is often the way it looks, like its homes and its setting. Some places look the same, but they only reveal their true character after living in them for a while because they contain a unique mix of occupational or cultural groups. This neighborhood is very unique in some important ways.

We Americans love our cars. Not only are they a necessity for most Americans due to the shape of our neighborhoods and the distances between where we live, work, shop, and go to school, but we also fancy them. As a result, most households in America have one, two, or three cars. The Kalihi neighborhood has a highly unusual pattern of car ownership. Residents of this neighborhood must really love automobiles as. 55.8 percent of the households here have four, five, or more cars. That is more cars per household than in 99.6 percent of the neighborhoods in the nation. On the far side residents who love their cars more commuters here take the bus to work at19.3 and greater than 96.7 percent of all American neighborhoods. If you like the idea of leaving your car and home and hopping the bus to work, this might be a good neighborhood for you to consider.

Some neighborhoods have more internal cohesiveness than others. While other neighborhoods feel like a collection of strangers who just happen to live near each other. Sometimes this comes down to not only the personalities of the people in a place, but how long people have been together in that neighborhood. Some interesting things about the rootedness of people in the Kalihi neighborhood is that the Kalihi neighborhood has a greater percentage of residents born in another country at 49.2 percent than are found in 97.5 percent of all U.S. neighborhoods.

If you like crowded places, then you will probably enjoy the Kalihi neighborhood. The neighborhood is more densely populated than 95.7 percent of neighborhoods in the U.S., with 22,611 people per square mile living here.

The Kalihi neighborhood stands out nationally for having a greater proportion of its residents active in the military than 95.3 percent of other U.S. neighborhoods. If you come here, you will notice military people active in their jobs, going to and from work, and in plain clothes out and about the neighborhood.

The Kalihi neighborhood stands out within Hawaii for its college student friendly environment. This neighborhood is home to a number of college students, is relatively walkable, and above average in safety. In combination, this makes it stand out for a good place for college students to consider. Because a number of college students live here, this neighborhood may be close to a college campus and offer certain amenities nearby geared towards the student body. While it’s not an environment for everyone, ambitious scholars can enjoy seasonal excitement between semesters and school breaks, and parents can rest easy knowing that the area has an above average safety rating. For each of these reasons, the neighborhood is rated among the top 6 percent of college-friendly places to live in Hawaii.

Your future neighbors in the Kalihi neighborhood are well-to-do. Residents here make the top 15 percent of incomes in America and a higher income than 85.0 percent of the neighborhoods in America.

In the Kalihi neighborhood, 29.0 percent of the working population is employed in sales and service jobs, from major sales accounts, to working in fast food restaurants. The second most important occupational group in this neighborhood is executive, management, and professional occupations, with 27.3 percent of the residents employed. Other residents here are employed in clerical, assistant, and tech support occupations at 23.0 percent and 20.8 percent in manufacturing and laborer occupations.

Culture is shared learned behavior. We learn it from our parents, their parents, our houses of worship, and much of our culture – our learned behavior – comes from our ancestors. That is why ancestry and ethnicity can be so interesting and important to understand: places with concentrations of people of one or more ancestries often express those shared learned behaviors and this gives each neighborhood its own culture. Even different neighborhoods in the same city can have drastically different cultures.

In the Kalihi neighborhood in Honolulu, HI, residents most commonly identify their ethnicity or ancestry as Asian at 75.2 percent. There are also a number of people of Mexican ancestry at 2.8 percent and residents who report Puerto Rican roots at 2.0 percent.

The languages spoken by people in this neighborhood are diverse. These are tabulated as the languages people preferentially speak when they are at home with their families. The most common language spoken in the Kalihi neighborhood is English, spoken by 46.7 percent of households. Other important languages spoken here include Tagalog, the first language of the Philippine region and spoken by 19.1 percent of households and Chinese.
