With such a high concentration, this truly shapes the character of this neighborhood and to a large degree defines what this neighborhood is about.

Other residents here are employed in manufacturing and laborer occupations at 11.1 percent and 6.0 percent in clerical, assistant and tech support occupations.

In the Portlock, residents most commonly identify their ethnicity or ancestry as Asian at 34.6 percent. There are also a number of people of German ancestry at 6.6 percent and residents who report English roots come in at 6.0 percent. Some of the residents are also of Mexican ancestry at 3.3 percent, along with some Danish ancestry residents at 2.6 percent, among others. In addition, 17.9 percent of the residents of this neighborhood were born in another country.

The languages spoken by people in this neighborhood are diverse. These are tabulated as the languages people preferentially speak when they are at home with their families. The most common language spoken in the Portlock neighborhood is English, spoken by 86.4 percent of households.
