The second most important occupational group in this neighborhood is sales and service jobs, from major sales accounts, to working in fast food restaurants, with 33.6 percent of the residents employed. Other residents here are employed in clerical, assistant, and tech support occupations at 19.1 percent and 13.1 percent in manufacturing and laborer occupations.

In the Palolo neighborhood residents, most commonly identify their ethnicity or ancestry as Asian at 69.8 percent. There are also a number of people of Puerto Rican ancestry at 6.5 percent and residents who report Portuguese roots at 2.6 percent. Some of the residents are also of German ancestry at 1.5 percent.
